Starboard Is Now A Certified B-Corporation

Feb 12, 2018 | BY Frida Ongre

We are happy to announce that all our hard work and efforts to do good by our planet has been recognized. As of 2018 Starboard is now a certified B-Corporation. That means we have been certified by the non-profit B-Lab to meet extremely strict standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.

Starboard has over the past year taken part in many projects with social and environmental importance. Looking back at 2017, we gave out our first carbon footprint report, we planted over 100,000 mangrove trees, we mapped out the world’s plastic legislation and have actively fought for more, we invented the first ever plastic footprint offset scheme, we participated in our first UN conference in New York, and much more.

You know what the Fair Trade stamp means for food products? That is what B-Corp is for businesses! Next time you buy a pair of jeans, or get a cup of coffee, or apply for a loan – you can look for the B-Corp stamp. B-Corps are companies that care about their environmental weight, have good social practices and focuses on their ethical implications. Choosing a B-Corporation means you are supporting a community of businesses that are creating a positive impact in the industry – and we are immensely proud to be a part of this community.

In 2018 we will continue to think green and make 2018 our most positive impactful year yet. We will build better eco-boards, plant more trees, pick up more trash from the ocean and build a blue future together with you!

We do not only want to be the best business in the world, but also the best for the world.
